Hi, and welcome to my social studies class at LSVI! My name is Miss. Saundra Manuel and I'll be your social studies teacher.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Louisiana State University, and my teaching certification through the iteachLouisiana program.
I am a certified secondary education Social Studies teacher and also a certified TVI (teacher of the visually impaired). (picture to the right of Miss. Manuel in a cap and gown holding her college degree)
I have 2 brothers and 1 sister and have lived in Louisiana my whole life. When I was in school I played the sax, participated in track and field doing the mile run, the 400 meter, 800 meter, high jump, and various relay races, and was in the drama and French clubs. (Picture to the left of Miss. Manuel in track uniform with several friends at a high school track meet. Picture to the right of Miss. I have 2 dogs - Moxie and Bugsy (my dogs are named from a mafia theme) - and a chinchilla named Chimmy. I have two nieces. I love reading and going hiking with my dogs. (Picture to the left of Miss. Manuel with her 2 dogs: Moxie and Bugsy. They are posed in front of a Halloween themed background.)
I look forward to another great year at LSVI and the opportunity to better get to know all my wonderful students!
